What we would ideally like is to touch and better the lives of people in all of
rural India, and relocated urban slum clusters. However our resources demand we
keep our focus sharp, but with the intent to keep expanding and reaching out further.
CSI’s major project base is in the Delhi, Haryana, Punjab & Chandigarh.
In Delhi, we are primarily working in North-West Delhi, at the outskirts near the
Delhi-Haryana border. We are working in 5 villages and 12 slum clusters in Narela
, Alipur and Kanjhawala block. CSI has dedicated HIV prevention programs for sex
workers at Narela Township and for truckers at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar.
In Haryana, we are implementing legal literacy and women empowerment program in
three villages of district Sonipat. We are also conducting adolescent reproductive
and sexual health workshops with government school children in village Akhlimpur
in Gurgaon district.
In Chandigarh, organization is working with street and working children in colony
No. 5 & Burail.
In Punjab, we have worked on workplace intervention with labour force in plants
of Hero Cycles at Ludhiana. Recently, organization has taken up an HIV prevention
intervention with female sex workers at Jallandhar City.
