Objectives:
- To mobilize community groups and enhance the knowledge & skills on maternal child
health issues
- To create an enabling environment (which facilitates addressing of barriers) to
enhance women’s access to health services
- To strengthen existing public and private health care systems working for the promotion
of maternal and child health

Project Brief:
The backbone of the project is the formation and facilitation of Community Based
groups and once in place and equipped with required knowledge and skills the CBOs
are being linked with existing government services for reducing the maternal and
infant morbidity and mortality status in the community. Active CBOs are also being
encouraged to ensure regular functioning of local health services and visits of
basic health providers as per schedule.
